Mass-Production Launched by Designer of Modular Make-A-Bridge® in Boucherville, Québec

MAADI Group, Inc., creator of the Make-A-Bridge® (MAB) weld-free modular aluminum pedestrian bridge and gangway system, launches mass-production of quick-ship bridge and gangway units at its new manufacturing operations in Boucherville, Québec, Canada. The facility’s automated production of the lightweight MAB modules offers manufacturing and production, pre-assembly, packing, and shipping of MAB pedestrian bridges and marina gangways 8 to 12 times faster than for conventional welded structures.

MAB offers span lengths from 3.0 to 18.0 meters (10’ to 60’), and clear widths from 1.0 to 1.8 meters (3’ to 6’). Custom options include: bridge end configurations; guardrails, midrail, vertical pickets, horizontal railings, side panels, kick plates, and handrails; non-slip floor decking materials; mill finish, color anodized or baked paint architectural finishes; integrated LED lighting; and four structural connection systems to facilitate movement or expansion and contraction.

MAADI Group is ISO9001:2008 certified to the highest quality standards. All MAB extruded and cast aluminum components are fabricated by confident partners and processed in-house, supervised by MAADI Group Registered Professional Engineers. Make-A-Bridge® units are quick-shipped in pallets on standard-size trailers for ground transport, or packed into containers for overseas shipment, then installed in just hours by a few workers with no specialized labor or tools at any land, coastal, marina or dock location -- even in difficult-to-access areas.

The Make-A-Bridge® "Meccano®-style" modular system can be temporary or permanent, according to the application. Make-A-Bridge® is used in waterfront areas at marinas and docks, and for golf courses, recreational trails, parks, hospital and university campuses, office complexes, factory and plant floors, and can be easily cantilevered onto existing roadway or causeway bridges for dedicated walking/biking lanes. Make-A-Bridge® structures have a dead load capacity of 44 to 73kg/m2 (9 to 15 pounds per square foot) that accommodates up to 1.5-metric-ton vehicles (i.e., maintenance carts, jet skis, etc.), with a deflection between L/500 and L/240.
