AN INNOVATIVE FLEXIBLE SOLUTION FOR PILES MOORING

The position of the guide rings for the piles, necessary to moor the floating pontoons, is often not so easy to determine in order to minimize the interference with the boats.

Actually, the guide rings protruding from the jetty are a constraint to the berth of the boats, in some circumstances they are a dangerous obstacle to the safe and comfortable mooring of the boats.

The piles placed inside the pontoon eliminate the problem of the interference with the boats but it makes it necessary to design and to manufacture out-of-standard pontoons housing the guide rings in pre-determined positions.

The innovative step forward is the Intermediate Floating Module incorporating the guide ring for pile (see the picture).

The advantages are:

- no interference between piles and boats,

- no need of out-of-standard floating pontoons,

- flexible position of the piles, which can be changed even

during the installation,

- aesthetically pleasant configuration, same as that of the

floating modules.

The connection of the intermediate floating unit to the adjacent floating modules is rigid on one side consisting of two fixation devices, each made of a sturdy steel frame with 4 stainless steel bolts, by means of joint knees or by elastic joints on the other side.
