MKS Yacht Design’s 84m superyacht Galene Concept

Named after a Greek goddess that embodies calm seas, the 84 metre Galene is a new concept from young Turkish designer Mehmet Kamer Sarpkaya of MKS Yacht Design. The yacht is developed as an explorer yacht with long range capabilities and utilities which makes long distance cruising not only possible, but comfortable.

Just some of the on board features include an outdoor garden, permanent helicopter landing pad and a large tender garage for easy storage of toys and watersports equipment. Inside is an on board cinema, gym and spa area, all serviced by an elevator running the entire height of the vessel.

To be built from steel and aluminium, the yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests across 7 luxurious guest staterooms. Cabins have access to large fold out terraces. A crew of 25 will man the vessel.

Currently in the tank testing and CFD stages, MKS Yacht Design estimates a range of 6,000 nautical miles when fitted with twin 16V 4680 HP MTU engines combined with Siemens’ Hybrid EcoProp System. This enables the yacht to cruise virtually noise and vibration free.

Under development for the past two years already, MKS Yacht Design suggests a calculated build cost of EUR 65,000,000.
