Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology aquires electrical engineering company Elektrotechniek Harlingen

Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has confirmed its acquisition of fellow Dutch electrical engineering company Elektrotechniek Harlingen.

Based in Urk, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has long been one of the leading Dutch companies in the field of electrical systems for superyachts.

The management of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has been looking at ways to expand the company’s service from the current head office in Urk and branch in Den Helder, and the Harlingen facility represented the obvious choice.

In a statement issued to the media, Piet Brouwer’s management team said, ‘Elektrotechniek Harlingen has a lot of experience and expertise in the marine industry and related systems. We are increasingly fitting out new vessels in Harlingen [and] this second branch is a welcome addition and base for new projects. Harlingen is also situated right between Urk and Den Helder, increasing our ability to serve customers quickly.”

Elektrotechniek Harlingen started operating under the Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology flag immediately after the New Year. The existing staff at Elektrotechniek Harlingen will be retained with a branch manager appointed from Urk.

The company believe that The Harlingen office will be able to operate more flexibly after the acquisition, making larger projects more feasible thanks to support from the offices in Urk or Den Helder.

The management of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology adds: ‘In addition to our offices in Urk, Den Helder and Palma de Mallorca, and service centre in Enkhuizen, this acquisition further strengthens our position in the northern Netherlands. Customers can expect the same quality and service in Harlingen as they are accustomed to at the head office in Urk.’
