A Mini "ATLANTE"? What Do You Think Of The New Circa Marine?

Circa Marine has confirmed that it will be launching an FPB70 this year, with the first hull sold and construction due to begin in March.

The new mid-range model is the latest in a long line of ocean-crossing motorboats from legendary designer Steve Dashew.

With a sharp forefoot and super efficient hull shape, the FPB70 should be good for a cruising range in excess of 5,000nm – more than enough to cross the Atlantic on one tank.

This is made possible by the twin 165hp John Deere engines that provide steady progress at 11 knots, sipping slowly from an enormous 15,000-litre fuel tank.

Solar panels on the wheelhouse roof allow owners to lessen the load on the generator, which is available in 11KW or 13KW guises.

The layout below decks includes a double island berth in the bows and a guest cabin/study just in front of the enormous engine bay/workshop.

Up on the flybridge there is an upper helm and a lounging area, while the aft deck is large enough to stow two small tenders.

The FPB70 will be marketed for sale through Circa Marine’s global brokerage partner Berthon and there are two additional build slots available for buyers interested in owning one of these long-range cruisers.

Exact prices are available on application, but for context the smaller FPB64 costs around £2million.
