Boyd Lake State Park opens boating season Saturday

Boyd Lake State Park opens the boating season Saturday, with the courtesy dock in place by March 15

Note that ice may exist at Boyd's main ramp. Alternate launch will take place at Heron Cove Ramp.

To protect Colorado's water from aquatic nuisance species, boaters are reminded by Colorado Parks and Wildlife to:

•Clean all mud, plants or animals from the hull of your boat.

•Drain all of the water from the boat, live well and lower unit of the engine.

•Dry the boat and contents before the next launch.

March aquatic nuisance inspection hours at Boyd Lake are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Boats may be registered and Colorado State Park passes may be purchased at the Boyd Lake State Park visitor office, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

All types of watercraft are allowed on Boyd Lake's 1,700 surface acres of water, including ski boats, fishing boats, jet skis, sailboats, canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.
