Gunboat 66: launching a complete refit catamaran

Team Phaedo, the Gunboat 66 which appeared on our cover in 2013, had a mishap during the Transpac, when it was dismasted.

Once back in California, its owner decided to launch a complete refit of his catamaran, which was re-launched not long ago. A huge amount of work, as the masts, sails and appendages have been completely revised and/or changed, not to mention the interior and even the hull’s famous orange paintwork, which has been redone.

In short, the boat is brand new, and is now going to pick up its racing and cruising program again... We don’t have to say that it is already impressive, with the sail area of a Volvo 70 and the incredible carbon and titanium equipment it carries...
