Tony Castro reveals a new 68m

UK, Portsmouth. Tony Castro Design has released a 68m motoryacht concept based on an existing Sunrise Yachts platform, with the aim of creating a “Range Rover of the seas”.

“This design was based on Sunrise Yachts platform in order to save building costs on a second boat, given that the yard is already building one,” explains studio founder Tony Castro. “Regarding the hull, I am working on a system with Naiad that would allow the hull to be operated at low speeds with very low drag, while still enabling higher speeds without suffering from squatting and high resistance."

The purposeful looking profile was inspired by offshore supply vessels and long range fishing ships — designs developed to withstand violent weather systems. With a large carrying capacity for toys and tenders, she is capable of carrying a helicopter in a climate controlled garage, twin limo tenders, car, submarine, Jet Skis, paddleboards and a variety of inflatables water toys.

“The telescopic helicopter hanger is concealed within the superstructure when not in use and is electronically operated,” says Castro. “The toys and cars on the aft deck are maneuvered by cranes that are fitted above, in between the decks.”

With a beam of 13m, the interior provides accommodation for 12 guests across a master suite, VIP cabin and four guest suites. The layout also provides quarters for 15 crew and includes a full beam enclosed observation deck with a retractable roof, cinema, beach club, sauna, scuba diving pool, gym, pool and wine cellar.
