The METS and the Vendée Globe: November will be busy!

Off we go to Amsterdam for the METS, the world’s largest marine equipment trade show! Ino-Rope will present the IB 27 prototype, new wooden cases for old sailing boats and cable endings, registered for the DAME Award.

METS show: Ino-Rope will be in Amsterdam! :

As is customary this time of year, the Ino-Rope team will be at the METS from 15th to 17th November (booth 05.406). With us this year, the IB 27 prototype hoisting itself up to the top of the Ino-Block range, with a working load of 9 tonnes!

At Ino-Rope, we don’t want to leave anybody out! That’s why our design office developed wooden cases (IB 5.4 to 18) for old sailing boats to enjoy our reliable, efficient and light blocks… as discretely and tastefully as they are accustomed to!

We are presenting the textile ending with an integrated block at the DAME Award which opens the show. An ultra-simple solution (only 2 parts) for maximum reliability, perfectly adapted to backstays and runners. This system, set up on RM (Fora Marine) also enables you to assemble downhaul, cunningham, lazy jack purchases, etc.

Vendée Globe: one third of the fleet is equipped of IBs! :

Saying we are proud to equip one third of the Vendée Globe fleet* is an understatement. We are overjoyed! The number of skippers adopting our Ino-Blocks is always on the rise, to our delight and for their safety.

The winner is the young Swiss, Alan Roura, whose IMOCA 60 La Fabrique counts no fewer than 44 IB, ranging from 0.8 to 6 tonnes of working load: "Ino-Rope is a young company and I’m the youngest Vendée Globe competitor so it seemed obvious to contact them. There are IBs all over my boat! Plus, I’ve got a bad memory of getting slapped in the face by a metal block. So I reckon, if you have to kiss a backstay block, it might as well be a light and plastic one!”

Three skippers also called out to Ino-Rope Rigging services for customized textile solutions. They are Kojiro Shiraishi (Spirit of Yukoh), Thomas Ruyant (Le Souffle du Nord pour le Projet Imagine) and Eric Bellion (Commeunseulhomme).

* Armel le Cléac’h (Banque Populaire VIII), Jérémy Béyou (Maître Coq), Morgan Lagravière (Safran), Vincent Riou (PRB), Sébastien Josse (Edmond de Rothschild), Thomas Ruyant (Le Souffle du Nord pour le Projet Imagine), Alex Thomson (Hugo Boss), Eric Bellion (Commeunseulhomme), Sébastien Destremau (TechnoFirst - faceOcean), Paul Meilhat (SMA), Jean-Pierre Dick (St Michel-Virbac) et Alan Roura (La Fabrique).
