Garmin's new Nautix brings augmented reality to sailing by allowing mariners to see important vessel and navigational data in a head-up display

The ultra-light device attaches to either side of most eyeglass frames, is compatible with the NMEA 2000 data standard and can display information from up to five screens. The touch panel is waterproof and can be operated wearing gloves. Nautix will automatically search for and connect to a variety of other Garmin devices when brought within range. It uses ANT+ open source technology and its lithium ion battery can be charged via a USB port.
