BEHOLD: The New Luxury Sunseeker Yacht Is Going To Be Launched In January!

SUNSEEKER has announced plans to launch a major new model in January.

The news coincides with the Poole-based luxury boat builder being crowned Champion of British Manufacturing at the Walpole British Luxury Awards.

The new model, the Manhattan 66, will be unveiled at the London Boat Show. It follows the Manhattan 52, which has so far secured retail sails worth £30million.

Sunseeker says the “important” new model signals its intentions to maintain a strong position in a critical segment of the market. It says it is committed to an “unrivalled” portfolio of luxury performance yachts from 50-155ft.

The Manhattan 66 comes with panoramic hull and saloon windows and an open-plan layout which the company says provides enough space on board to rival much larger yachts.

Sean Robertson, sales director at Sunseeker International, said: “We’re really looking forward to launching the all new Manhattan 66, which is already generating substantial interest. Following the success of the Manhattan 52, which was the first in a series of new Manhattan models, it underlines our ability to keep giving our customers the best in class across every segment we operate in.”

The galley can be installed at the main deck level or below to create more entertaining space in the main saloon.

Its flybridge has also been designed for entertaining and relaxation, with seating throughout, large sunbathing areas and a wet-bar. The bathing platform is capable of launching a jet RIB and there is a transom “beach club” with optional barbecue and overhead “rain shower”.

A twin berth crew cabin has en suite facilities, while there are four cabins below, including a master cabin with its own private stairway to the saloon – a first for a Sunseeker in this size range.

The boat can cruise at 25 knots or reach 34 knots at full throttle.

Sunseeker’s success at the Walpole British Luxury Awards was announced at the Dorchester in London.

Sunseeker International CEO Phil Popham said: “This award is a tribute to the skill and dedication of our 2,000 employees in Dorset where we have meticulously manufactured award winning luxury performance motor yachts for around 50 years. To be honoured amongst other prestigious British brands such as Jimmy Choo, Tate Modern, Stella McCartney and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a hugely rewarding experience for the whole team.”

Sunseeker recently announced it would invest £50million over five years in new products, improved shipyard facilities and recruitment, with 225 joining the team this year.

The company revealed in September that it had cut its annual losses by 67 per cent to £13.6m in 2015 and had turned a profit in the second quarter of this year.
