The royal sun

SWEDEN, Simrishamn. Dennis Ingemansson, the principal designer at Dennis Ingemansson Design and creator of the Dubai Sea Limousine, has created two motoryacht concepts called Her Majesty and Star, 180m and 70m respectively. The larger of the two takes inspiration from the Siberian wilderness with a touch of military styling, while Star was an “artistic initiative with influences of post-modernistic art”.

“The interior is a truly modernistic temple with historical antique influences,” says the Swedish designer about Her Majesty. The megayacht is capable of accommodating 36 guests across 12 double en suite cabins, six VIP suites and the owner’s suite, which is located on the upper deck in the form of a penthouse. The main salon is situated on the main deck and includes a dining area capable of seating 60. Other features of the design include a 15m indoor swimming pool as part of a spa area, two 16m tenders, jet skis, a submarine and two helipads, one at the bow and the other towards the aft. The latter is a reinforced platform suitable for a super puma helicopter.

Powered by a diesel electric propulsion system, Her Majesty will be fitted with four MTU 20V 1163 TB63 engines, achieving a top speed of 22 knots and a range of 15,850nm when cruising at 16 knots.

Star was created with the charter market in mind and includes two master en suites on the main deck, with an additional four guest suites located on the lower deck. To ensure maximum views out to sea, the designer has incorporated as many open spaces as possible and for interior areas, glass has been used to maximise the feeling of openness. The upper deck is reserved for the owner’s lounge, which includes windows in the shape of warped diamonds forward, with additional window further aft, in a pattern similar to that found on the head of a big cat.

A tender garage housing two 7.5m tenders is located forward below a touch-and-go helipad, which can be used as a dance floor when not operational. Aft of the vessel is a seven-metre swimming pool, which strays from the traditional rectangular shape in favour of a more post-modernist shape.

A top speed of 25 knots is envisaged for the motoryacht, which would be operated by a crew of 18.
