Sunny Memories

In SuperyachtDesign Issue 27, Dennis Ingemansson presented a 50m catamaran concept, a design developed following a meeting with the Nedship Group. The Swede has followed this with a 90m, developed in collaboration with Dutch shipyard Oceanco.

Using Oceanco’s proven 90m platform, with naval architecture provided by Oceanco together with Azure Naval Architects, Dennis Ingemansson has created an exterior for the project called Sunny Memories. Also known by its code name DP057, the motoryacht concept came about following a design brief from the shipyard for something different.

“Oceanco invited me to start working as an exterior designer for them after we met in Fort Lauderdale and Monaco several years ago,” says the designer. “The aim for this project was to create something new and fresh, but nothing too extreme, for their Y700 platform.”

With an automotive influence in the exterior styling, Sunny Memories features a number of glass solutions to enhance interior spaces while delivering a good level of privacy. “Today automotive influences are necessary to make superyachts look sporty and elegant,” explains Ingemansson. “I wanted this design to have a strong Oceanco DNA, so when people look at the end result there is no doubt it's an Oceanco.”

Sunny Memories can accommodate 12 guests across five suites and the owner’s suite, which is accessed via a private lobby and features a terrace, whirlpool, dressing and TV rooms and a bar.

The steel and aluminium vessel will be powered by two MTU 20V 4000 M 73 engines producing 3,600kW each and achieving a top speed of 20 knots.
