Rossinavi launches 49m M/Y Aurora

A second launch for the Italian shipyard in just over a month…

Following the launch of 50m Endeavour II in February, on 1 April it was the turn of 49m Aurora (formerly project Longitude) to splash from the Rossinavi yard in Viareggio. The all-aluminium, fast displacement motoyacht shares the same naval architects (Arrabito) and interior designer (Achille Salvagni) as its predecessor, but has very different exterior design with axe-bow styled by Fulvio De Simoni.

"The launch of Aurora marks a departure from the style of our previous launches and is another example of how Rossinavi meets the needs of our discerning clients with full-custom solutions,” says CEO Federico Rossi. “Working with Fulvio De Simoni, we wanted to develop a fast and aggressively styled displacement yacht that combines the owner’s passion for sport and adventure with luxuriously detailed and modern interior spaces."

Unusally, the cut-outs in the main deck bulwarks in the bow provide forward views from the full-beam owner’s stateroom, which has access to a private foredeck with treadmill and bike machine. There is a second master suite on the upper deck overlooking the open aft deck that serves as a private sundeck aboard the GT-style cruiser.

On the lower deck are two guest cabins, the galley and forward crew quarters, a large side-loading garage aft of the engine room that can house a range of tenders and toys, and a spacious transom beach club. There is another lounging area forward of the wheelhouse on the bridge deck.

Powered by twin MTU 12V4000 series diesels (2x 2,580 kW), Aurora has a top speed of 21 knots and a range of around 3,800nm at a cruising speed of 17 knots.

Rossinavi has been building close to full capacity and has another four projects under construction. At the end of April it is is due to launch FR030 (49m displacement hull in the Prince Shark series), FR031 (63m fast displacement hull), FR036 (49m with KaMeWa waterjets), and FR037 (70m Ice-Cass with diesel-electric pod propulsion).
