PRIVATE BAY

After a prolonged break in the presentation of new concepts, after the 142m Armonia concept was unveiled in 2012, Italian shipyard Fincantieri has revealed its new collaborative concept, Private Bay, alongside Italian superyacht designer Horacio Bozzo.

Much like Armonia, the new 123m concept has a linear and well-proportioned profile with a vast amount of exterior space.

The proposed gross tonnage of 5,400GT for Private Bay isn’t groundbreakingly vast, and isn’t far off the average gross tonnage of existing yachts with an LOA between 120-125m. However, the yacht is still a spacious proposition - with nine guest cabins and a proposed crew number of 50.

Having worked previously with ISA Yachts, Hakvoort and Benetti, Bozzo has developed a distinctive yet uncomplicated exterior style, with clean lines and sharp profiles. And Private Bay is no exception, with a distinctly fresh profile and simplistic open spaces on the four aft exterior areas.

“The exterior design is characterised by surfaces that intersect, creating light reflections with terraces and balconies overlooking the sea”, says Bozzo.

Here the yacht is segmented into a number of separate segments all in the name of privacy, which is where the name derives itself from.

“Private Bay also features a flared bow which adds class as well as a leaning mast, giving a sporty dimension to the yacht”, Bozzo adds.

Private Bay also features three pools - two forward and one larger pool on the lower aft deck, which also has a bar. This open beach club concept includes a vast 160 square metres of lounge area and includes an open air cinema and generous swim platform.
