Heesen delivers the 50m superyacht Omaha

Formerly known as Project Maia, Omaha is the first in Heesen’s newly designed 50-metre Steel Class which replaces the 47m Steel Class, of which 13 units were delivered between 2001 and 2017.

Described as extremely manoeuvrable in all conditions, Omaha’s exterior lines are by Clifford Denn. She features a round bilge steel hull with bulbous bow. Her owners worked closely with Reymond Langton and Heesen’s in-house team of designers to create a sophisticated interior. She boasts a luxurious beach club complete with a bar and sauna and accommodates up to 10 guests in five staterooms.

Powered by twin MTU engines, she has a range of 3,800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots. During sea trials she reached speeds of 16 knots, exceeding the contractual speed of 15 knots.

Omaha was sold by Chris Collins of Ocean Independence, who represented the owners during the construction process. Wayne Foulis acted as the owner’s representative.

Omaha’s sister ship, Project Triton, is currently under construction at the Heesen shipyard in Oss and is scheduled for delivery in February 2020.
