NEW BOAT CLUB

Plymouth’s Yacht Haven Quay is the latest to enter the boat share market with the launch of its Boat Club.

The club gives members shared access to a new 7m Beneteau Barracuda motorboat that has had extra safety features added to meet MCA regulations.

“Everyone in the marine industry is trying to make boating more accessible and to inspire the next generation of water users,” said manager Will Rahder.

“Everyone wants to enjoy being on the water, but modern trends show that ownership of boats is decreasing, much in the same way as cars and homes.”

He added: “We decided to create a Boat Club where members can simply use a really high quality and versatile boat as they wish and we’ll look after all the other elements that come with ownership such as maintenance, depreciation and storage.”
