Sanlorenzo welcomes new 62Steel superyacht at La Spezia shipyard

The second largest project ever undertaken by Sanlorenzo has arrived at the builder’s superyacht facility in La Spezia last month and is now ready for outfitting. Work has now begun to finish the bare steel hull and aluminium superstructure and will continue until her launch day in 2020.

Featuring a new plumb Sanlorenzo bow, the 62Steel combines several firsts for the builder, including a midship tender garage designed to for easy guest pickups and safer tender retrievals. The impressive glass pool found on the smaller 52Steel model has also been incorporated here and illuminates the full beam beach deck on the lower deck beneath where three hull openings convert into massive waterside terraces.

The elegant design of the 62Steel comes from Sanlorenzo’s team of designers and continues a familiar style pioneered by recent models such as the SX88 and larger 52Steel. The master suite is located forward on the upper deck and leads out onto the foredeck where a private outdoor setup will make for a great exclusive retreat.

Amongst several other 50+ metre projects currently under construction at the yard is the Sanlorenzo flagship project, 64Steel (partly visible in the image above) which will be ready for launch in the first quarter of 2019.
