Johnson Yachts begins construction on 24m Johnson 80 yacht

Taiwanese superyacht yard Johnson Yachts has revealed it has started construction on the ninth hull in its Johnson 80 series. The 24 metre flybridge 'entry level superyacht’ features exterior design by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design and interior styling by Karen Lynn Interior Design.

The yacht will have a 6.3 metre beam and feature a bank of exterior vertical windows creating panoramic views from the interior of the main deck. Dixon has also concentrated on creating spaces for entertaining family and friends.

The saloon living area sits aft and has been designed as a space to specifically showcase the owners’ taste in art. A country kitchen is located at the bow on the main deck, along with an open galley with marble countertops and a two-stool breakfast bar.

Accommodation is for eight guests comprising a full beam master cabin with a walk-in wardrobe and desk, one VIP cabin and two doubles.

Power will come from a pair of Man D2842 LE433 1550hp engines for a top speed of 25 knots.President of Johnson Yachts, Andy Huang, commented on the flexibility of the Johnson 80 model. “With the proven engineering of the Johnson 80 in place, we can work with the owners to create a yacht with the flexibility to accommodate their needs, whether they wish to entertain friends on board one day or depart for a month-long cruise the next.”
