KEF introduces new LSX music system

World-renowned speaker manufacturer KEF, has officially unveiled its new wireless compact speaker system…

The world of speaker systems and in the superyacht industry is a fascinating one. With so much choice, the hunt for perfection in sound quality can often be a tangled maze of uncertainty. When it comes to selecting speaker systems, there is certainly not a one size fits all option, making the process a journey of discovery. Nevertheless, new product launches in ultra-high-end speaker systems are always exciting, and the unveiling of pioneering sound solutions is something which – despite making purchasing choices that little bit harder – will be met with eagerness in the superyacht industry.

Today, world-renowned speaker manufacturer KEF, based in Maidstone, Kent, has officially unveiled its new wireless compact speaker system, LSX. Using cutting-edge acoustic engineering, this new system has the projection of a true high-resolution stereo, all integrated into a small wireless package and understated colour scheme.

The new LSX follows on from the award-winning LS50 Wireless system (that featured KEF’s Uni-Q driver array), which improves stereo imaging across a much wider listening area. Further enhancing the experience, the LSX also includes KEF’s Music Integrity Engine, which is a collection of digital signal processing algorithms that ensures accurate time alignment and phase coherence. This means that the entire system is small enough to virtually go unnoticed in a superyacht interior, while offering a deep sound field which belies its size.

SuperyachtNews headed to the official unveiling of the product, held at the Soho Hotel, London to hear from Dr Jack Oclee-Brown, KEF’s head of acoustic and engineering, about the performance of the LSX. “Compact, effortless to operate, and with connectivity options to satisfy both music streaming and TV needs, LSX is a major step forward in the quest to deliver true and proper sound quality for connected consumers,” says Oclee-Brown. The device has been created to be very easy to operate with maximum effect and can be set up in a matter of minutes.

Designed by British industrial designer Michael Young in collaboration with the KEF, the new speakers come in a choice of five colours; black, blue, maroon and olive - which are clad in a luxury fabric by Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat – and a gloss white.
