HX890E HAS MORE FEATURES
Standard Horizon’s new HX890E is a 6W floating class H DSC VHF with built-in GPS, sharing the same DSC capabilities as the company’s HX870E.
The new VHF has more built-in features, including two scrambler systems, suitable for flotillas, sea anglers or marine authorities as the four-code CVS2500A and 32 code FVP-42 scrambler types allow for secure communication between two or more compatible sets.
Using a group monitor function, the set itself can track and display the position of up to nine pre-selected vessels using position calling.
Other new features are the FM band broadcast receiver and 700mW speaker plus a rechargeable 1800mAh Li-ion battery that gives 11 hours of operating time.
The casing is built to US military (MIL-STD-810F) specifications allowing the set to be submerged for up to 1.5m for 30 minutes.
There is an automatic water-activated white strobe light fitted to assist in a man overboard situation.
The VHF has 66 channels and class H DSC operation. It has a 2.3in diagonal back lit dot matrix screen with a display that can be toggled between day or night operation.
The HX890E is supplied with a wide range of accessories including 12V/240V charger, cradle and back-up alkaline battery tray.
