Cox Powertrain adds keyless ignition to diesel outboard

Cow Powertrain, which officially introduced its 300-hp diesel outboard, the CXO300, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, is collaborating with Nordic Wireless Soltuions’ CoastKey for keyless ignition and a wireless emergency shutoff switch for new motor. The partnership was announced during the Metstrade show that is wrapping up today at RAI Amsterdam.

CoastKey joins Murphy by Enovation Controls, which will be providing its LCD display screen to Cox. A dash-mounted stop-start button with a keycode is partnered with a cordless fob worn by the boat driver. It stops the engine within two seconds of the driver falling overboard. Additional functions, such as engine tilt, anchor windlass, bow thruster and remote starting can be added.
