Wally Yachts presents first Ferretti Group partnership project

Wally Yachts has unveiled its first model in partnership with the Ferretti Group.

The Italian builder presented its new model, the “restyled” 48 Wallytender, at the Boot Dusseldorf boat show to coincide with the announcement that Wally would become part of the Ferretti Group.

Both companies were keen to emphasise that the partnership will not dilute the Wally brand, describing the 14.5 metre 48 Wallytender as carrying “all the distinctive Wally hallmarks.”

Key features of the “standalone runabout” include extensive day boating amenities, including a full cabin and shower for two guests, a galley unit with two fridges, one inside and one out, and a retractable Passarelle that doubles as a swim ladder.

Additionally, both the foredeck and aft deck can be protected from the sun by awnings and the aft seating can face both forward or towards the dining table when at anchor.

Extensive storage is also provided by a cavity that lies beneath the entire aft sunbed.

A pair of Volvo IPS 650 engines will power the lightweight composite design to a top speed of 38 knots.

Speaking at the Ferretti Group press conference in Dusseldorf, Wally founder Luca Bassani said the 48 Wallytender proves that the “Wally DNA signature design, proven performance, fun and flexibility continues under the partnership with Ferretti Group.”

He added: “Ever since we entered the power market in 2001, the Wallytender has been a pure expression of joy of the open-air living on the sea and the sheer pleasure of day boating.”
