40m explorer superyacht The Beast launched in New Zealand

The 39.5-metre multihull superyacht The Beast was launched in Foxton Beach, New Zealand last week.

The vessel was moved from Profab Engineering’s facility in Palmerston North to the Manawatū Marine Boating Club where she was lowered into the water for the first time. She is the largest yacht to be launched in New Zealand in recent years since Yachting Developments’ 39.5-metre sportsfisher Lanakai was completed in 2017.The project is the work of LOMOcean Design and Profab Engineering while 37 South Yacht Charter helped develop the vessel specifically for the charter market in the South Pacific.

The hefty internal volume of 495 GT will house The Beast’s 12 guests in five generous staterooms while additional quarters on the lower deck provide accommodation for the nine crew members.

Once completed, The Beast will carry a custom 13-metre sportsfisher, a nine-metre amphibious tender and a wide array of watersports toys and a full selection of deep sea fishing equipment.
