ADVANCE YACHT INTRODUCES NEW POWER SOLUTIONS
Romsey-based Advance Yacht Systems is distributing new generators and battery chargers from Paguro and Cristec.
Paguro SY generators
The new Paguro SY range of generators combines Paguro’s generator technology with the YANMAR diesel engine, and features twin circuit cooling and a soundproof capsule with anti-vibration feet both internal and externally.
“The popularity of the Paguro 4 SY has continued to grow, with sales significantly exceeding our old best seller, the Paguro 4000,” says Rod Boreham, managing director of Advance Yacht Systems.
“The new Yanmar engine is more powerful than the original Farymann engine, so coupled with the same oversized synchronous water-cooled alternator – we are getting much more power than before – and it’s cleaner and quieter,” he added.
The YANMAR powered range includes the 2000 (a tiny permanent magnetic style generator weighing 51kg), 3 SY and 4 SY. A 6kVA version will follow shortly.
Cristec YPOWER chargers
“We are now able to generate a lot of power from small machines like the Paguro 4 SY, but it is a shame to have that capability and then waste the energy when storing or converting it – so we need to complement it with efficient power conversion,” said Mr Boreham.
A 5-stage digital battery charger like the new Cristec YPOWER range coupled with a Cristec RCE no-volt-drop MOSFET type charge splitter can make a big difference to the efficiency of battery charging systems.
MOSFET type charge splitters distribute charge from a battery charger, the engine alternator or solar panels and wind turbines to the batteries. “MOSFET types are no-volt-drop and considering their low cost, they make a disproportionately large contribution to performance,” said Mr Boreham.
Cristec battery chargers are compatible with the Sheiber centralised yacht systems control as fitted by Beneteau, Jeanneau, Wauquiez and others.
