Philippe Briand comments on new 50 metre Vitruvius design

In October we already announced that Perini Navi's Vitruvius Yachts was working together with designer Philippe Briand, on a new line of yachts. Briand has now released more information about this new 50 metre project.

The design is based on the highly successfully hull of the first Vitruvius yacht Exuma launched in 2010. That particular yacht has been on a world circumnavigation, and completed more than 55,000 nautical miles during her round trip.

The new design is 499 GT, which is directly comparable to the GT of Exuma, but the use of the volume is very different. "The brief was to design a yacht more suitable for a cruising programme not a long distance explorer as is Exuma. This new 50m design is roomier with more accommodation, catering for all waters and more accessible cruising areas", Briand comments.

"The space on the main deck is used for the owner’s suite and two large guests cabins for this is the most comfortable location for the cabins. On the lower deck there are two other roomy guest cabins and the remaining space is dedicated to huge crew quarters for the seven crew", Briand continues.

The exterior space on the new 50 metre project, is twice as large than on Exuma. They include, a larger upper terrace, a sun deck and a lounge area on the fore deck. The sun deck has a Jacuzzi.
