Buehler Turbocraft returns with new Thunderclap 38 tender design

Buehler Turbocraft – the classic tender builder famous for appearing in James Bond film Thunderball – has returned with a brand new Thunderclap 38 superyacht tender design.

The iconic 1960s boat company, favoured by a roster of famous owners including the Kennedy family, was revived in 2014 by a group of Swiss, American and French entrepreneurs. The new Thunderclap 38, an 11.76 metre luxury day boat and tender, boasts sleek, sophisticated lines and stays true to the brand’s heritage with the use of a water jet propulsion system. Combined with a cold-moulded wooden hull, the tender’s clever technical specs allow for an estimated design speed of 41 knots.

Created with the luxury market in mind, the Thunderclap 38 does not skimp on style. The tender’s exterior areas include a large welcome and bathing platform and sun deck crafted from teak and copper with fine marine leather soft furnishings. The interior design boasts a generous owner’s cabin with a queen size bed forward, a bathroom/day head and a large salon and dining area with adjoining summer kitchen, complete with mahogany panelling, skylight windows and entertainment system all decked out in fine fabrics by Perennials.
