Italian Sea Group unveils new Admiral Wave 38m superyacht

Italian Sea Group unveiled its new Admiral Wave sailing superyacht series at the Monaco Yacht Show, and the first of the series to be developed is the 38-metre Admiral Wave 38 superyacht.

The Wave series, all of which will be built of aluminium, is being developed together with yacht design firm Philippe Briand Ltd and will include yachts up to 60 metres in length.

‘We have designed a beamier hull at midships and a wider section aft,’ said superyacht designer Philippe Briand. ‘This is the trend of the last successful generation of racing sailing yachts and those yachts have proven to be very efficient. The huge advantage given by this modern and fast shape is the volume and deck space created.’

Accommodation comprises an extremely wide owner’s stateroom aft, two more guest cabins, and a multifunctional space, which can be used as an office, saloon, or a third guest cabin, while LY3 compliant quarters are provided for four crew and the captain.

The cockpit is protected by a hard top with a sliding bimini and can be fully protected with retractable windowpanes. It becomes the formal dining area on deck at night, and a large aft terrace includes a sunbathing platform with access to the sea. The Wave 38m will be rigged with carbon mast and carbon furling boom with provision for auto tacking jib, slightly overlapping foresail, staysail and downwind sail.

The Italian Sea Group introduced the first-ever Admiral sailing yacht, Gigreca, at this year's Monaco show.
