CdM announces the sale of its Darwin Class 96

Delivering the motoryacht to the client in South America

ITALY, Ancona. Cantiere delle Marche has announced the sale of its 29.5m Darwin Class 96. Designed and engineered by Hydro Tec by Sergio Cutolo, the news comes three months after the sale of its 107 explorer vessel from the same range. The motoryacht is due to be delivered in 2015 to a client based in south America.

“It only took twelve weeks to complete this deal,” explains sales and marketing director at Cantiere delle Marche (CdM), Vasco Buonpensiere. “This included customising the technical specifications to match the client’s needs, negotiating the contract, and drawing a preliminary general arrangement following a very precise initial brief. This has been made possible thanks to the client’s experience and yachting knowledge.”


Due to confidentiality, little can be disclosed about the interior but the layout includes accommodation for 10 guests across a master suite, two VIP suites and two double suites. Accommodation for six crew has also been included along with all the usual social and dining areas you would expect on the main and upper decks. The Darwin Class 96 brings new thinking to the range in the design and size of the windows on the superstructure, specifically in the main salon, skylounge, guest cabins, crew quarters and galley.

The vessel will be powered by two Caterpillar C18 Acert engines producing 500kW each, achieving a top speed of 13 knots and a range of 4,500nm at 10 knots.


The sale reinforces CdM’s confidence in the Darwin Class line, as well as the Nauta Air range designed by Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Yacht Design. The first two yachts of the Nauta Air range are already under construction with the Nauta Air 86 expected to be delivered this year and the Nauta Air 90 expected in 2015.
