The latest model features a new D-collar design that reduces the risk of deflation
Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP) recently announced the launch of the 850 D, an 8.5-meter RHIB already in production that is part of their rapidly growing IMPACT range. The new 850 D features a new collar design that combines an air-holding and foam-filled insert collar with a solid fiberglass gunnel, greatly reducing the risk of deflation. If ever the collar is punctured or damaged, it will still maintain its shape and function, allowing the boat to remain fully operational.
“When we originally launched the IMPACT series in 2009, our intent was to offer customers a solution for boarding situations, which would protect both vessels from harm. The new 850 D capitalizes on that by providing a solid interior fiberglass gunnel, which provides protection for officers during shouldering maneuvers, as well as a more stable, puncture-resistant collar,” explained Jeremy Davis, BCGP Director of Sales.
The recently released 10-, 11- and 12- meter models and the smaller 7.5-meter model will also be available with the D-Collar option beginning in later 2015.
