THE LIFEJACKET FOR KEYS

Key Buoy prevents your valuables from disappearing in the water

How often have we watched people dive for their belongings? Often enough to fear that it could be our bunch of keys that falls into the water one day! Davis Marine’s Key Buoy can end this nightmare. It is a self-inflating plastic key ring that weighs only 31 grams, but is more than useful in the worst case. A 47 centimeter long air tube inflates automatically when water surrounds the little buoy. Thus it can lift up keys, tools or other devices that weigh 80 grams or less.

But don’t get nervous – it can take a while for the buoy to appear on the surface of the water! Approximately 60 seconds is indicated by the manufacturer, depending on the depth of the water. The bright orange of this handy little companion facilitates recovery in water of any color. It is supposed to stay afloat for over an hour, so you don’t even need to stress when picking it up out of the water. Unfortunately, the key buoy is for single use only, but still seems worth the investment. And one thing is sure: The time when it was only a must for humans to wear personal flotation devices is clearly over…
