THE FINAL VOYAGE OF THE COSTA CONCORDIA

The wrecked cruise ship reaches its final destination after a two-and-a-half-year salvation operation

Two and a half years after the Costa Concordia cruise liner sank off the cost of the Tuscan island of Giglio, the ship finally arrived at the port of Genoa in Northern Italy to be broken up for scrap.

The ship ran aground of the tiny island on January 13th, 2012, leaving 32 people deceased. It took a four-day voyage and one of the largest and most expensive maritime salvage operations in history to get the 114,500-ton vessel to its final destination. Watch the footage from Reuters below as the last voyage of the ship is filmed by an aerial drone.
