DANISH YACHTS UNVEILS QUADRADECK SUPERYACHT

The Scandinavian shipyard's carbon fiber superyacht hits the American market

Revealed at the 29th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show this month, Danish Yachts has created a carbon fiber superyacht called QuadraDeck.

Despite its higher initial cost, the innovative use of carbon fiber creates a yacht that is much lighter and thus up to 20% more fuel efficient. Maintenance costs are also reduced thanks to the material’s strength and stiffness. This means that the potential overall running cost of the vessel is lower than with traditional materials.

As for the design, Patrick Knowles Designs handled the interior of the Quadradeck, while the exterior was modeled by Dutch designer Cor D Rover. The interior offers accommodations for up to ten guests in five cabins, including a master suite with a balcony that can be opened and used even while the yacht is in transit. Another appreciable element is the expandable sun deck that gains up to 40% more surface area thanks to terraces that unfold from the central mast.

Rather than a high speed cruiser, the QuadraDeck is designed to reach a comfortable speed of around 20 knots, but the various propulsion options have not yet to be firmly chosen.
