LEHR MARINE: NEW 15 HP PROPANE OUTBOARD
The latest model from the eco-friendly outboard specialists
Lehr Marine is a Californian company that specializes in environmental friendly technology. The creators of the world’s first propane outboard engine, they have not stopped improving their range of marine products and have snagged a whole handful of awards along the way.
Most recently, Lehr premiered its 15 HP four-stroke model, their fourth model and the most powerful to date. Available with a 20, 38 or 50 cm shaft length, the 15 HP also features the world’s first internal electric start battery. It weighs less than a kilogram!
Why propane? Lehr’s founder, Capt. Bernardo Herzer, explains: “Propane has so many benefits over gasoline: higher 110 octane and lasts indefinitely, it’s lower in cost, there’s no risk of gas polluting the water, no ethanol or fuel-related issues, zero evaporative emissions, easy no-choke starts, no priming, no carburetor gum-up and no winterizing.”
We think that sums it up nicely!
