SAILING SUNDAY: BENETEAU OCEANIS 38

A flexible sailboat that is sweeping the awards

If you’ve been at all following trade show news, you already know that BENETEAU’s Oceanis 38 has been winning prizes right and left. The most recent win was at the Miami International Boat Show where the newest Oceanis won NMMA’s Innovation Award in the Sailboats category.

Lauded for its universal appeal and exceptional adaptability, the Oceanis 38 is available in three different configurations that can be switched out even years later.

The entry level Daysailer offers a spacious interior that includes a simple forward cabin and head, while privileging saloon space. In contrast, the Weekender offers a choice between two or three cabins and a slew of options. It is perhaps the most adaptable, allowing for an open, lofted feel or a more traditional closed layout as well as the possibility of a separate shower cabin, fitted kitchen and more. The most traditional version, the Cruiser, offers two or three cabins and large galley that faces the lounge area.

The Oceanis 38 equally won its category for European Yacht of the Year and Sail Best Boat.
