A new range of Williams tenders will be launched in 2016 with smaller, lighter BRP engines, the firm has announced.

Williams Performance Tenders recently confirmed that it had renewed its deal with BRP to supply engines for its jet-powered range, but dropped a key hint.

The Oxfordshire-based firm currently fits BRP’s Rotax 4-TEC 150 and 200 engines to its Sportjet range (pictured above), but it confirmed that the 2016 collection will also come with a Rotax ACE-powered model as well.

The ACE, which stands for Advanced Combustion Efficiency, is a four-stroke engine that comes in 57hp, 60hp and 115hp guises, and is currently popular on the Ski-Doo range of PWCs due to its fuel consumption rate of up to 29mpg.

The current Williams range starts at 80hp with the Turbojet 285, so the introduction of one of the smaller ACE engines could create a new entry-level model.

Mathew Hornsby, sales director at Williams Performance Tenders, said: “This collaboration will not only see the development of a new range of models from Williams, but also provide unparalleled worldwide engine service coverage for our customers.”

Exact details of the upcoming range are some way off, but Williams fans can expect to get more details in time for the 2016 London Boat Show.
