Concealed Frame windows

UK marine glazing specialist Seaglaze Marine Windows was proudly presenting at Seawork 2015 its latest ‘Concealed Frame’ concept – a next generation evolution of Seaglaze’s existing ‘Hidden Frame’ concept.

Seaglaze’s Alastair Clayton claims that the new system offers the smooth and seamless look of direct-bond glass with the installation and removal/repair convenience of framed glass.

The idea behind new ‘Concealed Frame’ continues the aesthetic appeal of direct-bond which itself is being specified more and more on commercial boats, but without the glass removal and replacement difficulties presented by direct bond systems.

‘Concealed Frame’ comprises a two-part clamp frame system for either single or double-glazed, fixed, sliding or opening units.

Recent experience with ‘Hidden Frame’ and Seaglaze’s own 3D printing technology has brought down the cost of manufacture, along with other important savings in terms of reduced weight and installation/ removal time.

The bond surrounding the inner pane of glass, for example, does not need to be printed (protected) against UV damage because the design of the Concealed Frame has that already covered up.
