MoD Procurement Session

The popular Seawork conference session held by the leader of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) Boats Team will take place at 11:30 on Wednesday 17 June – for those interested in attending please note that this is a change to its regular scheduling of Tuesday.

The MoD Boats Team visits Seawork every year as a golden opportunity to meet with the international commercial and workboat industry. The MoD require a vast range of vessels including small high speed interceptors, patrol boats, RIBs, harbour craft, small landing craft, Army work boats and an array of training vessels and sailcraft.

Spending many millions of pounds annually, the leader of the MoD Boats Team at the DE&S (Defence Equipment and Support) will use Seawork to advertise his forthcoming requirements. He will be giving a conference session on MoD business and procurement at 11:30 on Wednesday 17 June on the Seawork Conference vessel located alongside the quayside. The MoD Boats Team will also be visiting a number of boat building company stands and the list of companies who have requested such visits has been forwarded to them.

The MOD support business for in-service boats is conducted by half a dozen companies who have won contracts for this, a list of these companies who will be at Seawork will be available on the UKTI DSO/MoD enquiry desk. Companies providing ancillary or associated equipment should contact these companies as the MoD team will not have the time or capacity to visit these.

In addition, the MoD New Suppliers Manager will be on hand in the UKTI DSO Pavilion (B35) to talk to companies who wish to consider undertaking business with the MoD, and he is supported by the UKTI Defence and Security Organisation (DSO) who help UK companies undertake export activities in the defence and security sector. Again, the representatives will be available to meet companies on their stand.
