First Look: On board Sanlorenzo’s 460EXP

Sanlorenzo unveiled hull number one in their first superyacht explorer range during the past Monaco Yacht Show. SYT stepped on board the 460 EXP to experience her large volumes, high level of luxury, and long range capabilities first hand.

At 460 gross tons, the 42 metre superyacht offers exceptional on board living spaces, and large storage areas that adds to her expedition appearance. Dressed in a moss green exterior, the 460 EXP features a strong and defined image drawn by Francesco Pascokwski, with a high freeboard and bulwarks creating a sense of safety and purpose-built design. The yacht is not only functional, but built to adhere to today’s demanding yacht owner’s requirements of comfort and privacy.

The 460 EXP will receive two classifications from RINA. Her low noise and vibration levels affords her the Comfort Class classification, as well as the Green Plus classification as a result of technical characteristics and features which make the yacht eco-friendly. A low draft and compact size means the 460 EXP is able to reach restricted anchorages and ports with ease. A vast open aft deck can be used to store tenders or landing craft up to 10m in length, with hull number one fitted with a 4-ton lifting crane and ‘endless’ current swimming pool on the deck.

The interior is decorated as a warm and homely environment, and is where her large volume truly comes into play. Wide corridors and excellent headroom in all living areas are just some of the most apparent features. A blend of high quality woods and leathers combined with soft fabrics instantly has one feel at home in a relaxed loft-style environment.

A full beam master cabin is on main deck forward, with the remaining 8 guests housed in 4 well-appointed cabins on the lower deck.

The 460 EXP has been fitted with low derived 1300hp MTU engines which give the yacht excellent fuel efficiency while able to achieve a top speed of 16 knots. A 50,000 litre fuel tank means she is bale to reach a range of 4000nm at 11 knots.

Hulls two and three are currently under construction.
