First Look: On board Tankoa’s new 69m superyacht Suerte

The first ever yacht to come from the Tankoa shipyard in Italy, Suerte, was on display at the recent Monaco Yacht Show. Suerte, meaning luck in Spanish, was designed by Francesco Paszkowski, with interior spaces drawn by Margherita Casprini. SYT was on board during the show and soon realised this 69m has much more to offer than what meets the eye.

The client made a very clear request to the design team of having an inviting yet sophisticated atmosphere on board, with plentiful space to move about. Crew and guest separation was another key design factor, with crew to move throughout the yacht with minimal guest disturbance.

A large beach club is found at water level where one can board the yacht. Instead of a strictly watersports area, this space has been designed as a continuation of Suerte’s main living areas, styled with homely features such as a large lounge area, bar and TV. A central staircase leads one up into the heart of the main salon above.

The client’s request for natural materials is quite evident throughout the interior, with untreated woods, leather and stone creating vibrant textures and a calming effect. An innovative use of lighting enhances the space, adding much needed light to some of the darker areas on board. Large living spaces are a trademark on board and one gets the feeling that Suerte has been designed with luxury yet comfortable family living in mind.

A unique interior feature are the skylights in the upper salon. These aren’t placed in the teak deck above, but rather form part of the bottom a large pool on bridge deck. This creates a mesmerising effect as the sunlight flows through the water and illuminates the entire salon.

The master cabin is placed forward on the upper deck, overlooking a private terrace with sun pads and intimate Jacuzzi. Below on main deck are the guest and VIP cabins.

Exterior decks have been divided into separate social areas yet retains a sense of fluency and connection with other meeting areas and as well as the interior. Interior staircases leave decks clean and allows for great visibility all round.

Visit us this weekend as we take an in-depth look at Suerte in our Superyacht of the Week feature.
