Overmarine unveils Oceano 55

With the first Oceano 42 nearing completion, the Overmarine Group has revealed plans for a bigger 55.

The Oceano range of displacement yachts is a change of tack for the yard that made its name with more sporting yachts, but there echoes of those beasts in the athletic lines of the 55. Like the 42, she is the work of Alberto Mancini, and gains an extra deck over her smaller sister.

Key words for this concept were space and light. “Everything has been designed in order to maintain visual contact with the sea and the excitement of being outdoors,” the yard says. The sundeck benefits from a hardtop that offers some shade, while the foredeck area incorporates a 5m by 5m pool with a waterfall featuring an infinity effect over the two decks. Side terraces rotate to create a huge beach club.

Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the accommodation open up the spaces, while the yacht accommodates 12 guests and a crew of up to 11. Initial renderings incorporate a full-beam owner’s suite forward on the main deck. She has a cruising speed of 12 knots, which gives her a range of over 5,000 nautical miles.

The yard announced the sale of the first 42 last year. The most noteworthy feature of the Alberto Mancini design is the forward swimming pool with an infinity-style waterfall and a glazed skylight at the bottom that brings light into the owner suite, and there is a similar arrangement on the 55.
