WIDER YACHTS TO LAUNCH THE WIDER 150

A much awaited design from the Italian shipyard nears its launch date

WIDER Yachts is currently adding the finishing touches to the WIDER 150 at its shipyard in Ancona, Italy. The concept was first presented at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show, and four years later, the 46-meter megayacht is finally scheduled to hit the seas.

Designed by Fulvio De Simoni, the aluminum-hulled yacht boasts diesel-electric propulsion that not only lowers consumption but also allows the yacht to run entirely on battery power for a full night, which means no more vibrations, noise or pollution. And using only battery power, the yacht can cruise in zero emission mode for up to eight hours at 5 knots. Even the yacht’s material was chosen to reduce her carbon footprint thanks to aluminum’s ability to be recycled.

For her size, the yacht packs a big punch of luxury. An onboard tender garage houses a 9.8-meter tender, or more specifically the WIDER 32, which was developed at the same time as the mothership. The tender exits the yacht through a hatch adjacent to the 90-square-meter Beach Club. The Beach Club with its 7-meter swimming pool is unique thanks to the side-opening hatch that can be partially closed to protect the area while still allowing for easy flow of light and air. The owner’s apartment is 75 square meters, has an 8.53 meter beam and includes a 4-square-meter, fold-down sea terrace. The space features large windows and can be divided in two with a sliding partition. Overall, the yacht includes accommodation for 10 guests as well as for 8 crew members and a captain.
