Nina

During the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Heesen Yachts unveiled Project Nina, a 38m concept developed in collaboration with Italian design studio Hot Lab.

“Heesen is undertaking a very aggressive spec-boatbuilding programme,” explained Heesen's US representative, Thom Conboy, who presented Nina to the market. The 38m superyacht represents a 'regional' package, comprised of specs that make it particularly appropriate for operation in the waters of South Florida and the Caribbean. “People don't want to wait two or three years for a boat anymore and as the dollar and euro get closer, it can only be good for the American market."

The semi-displacement all-aluminium vessel offers accommodation for 10 guests across two double and two twin en suite cabins on the lower deck with the owner’s full-beam suite located forward on the main deck. As you would expect from Heesen, the master suite includes a study, walk-in wardrobe and generous en suite. Aft on the lower deck is a beach club with stowage for a tender up to 5.4m provided on the sundeck, which includes a skylounge with a dining area that can seat eight guests. While the main salon includes a dining area that can seat 10.

The interior layout makes full use of the vessel’s 7.8m beam, with crew areas kept separate from guest spaces for improved crew circulation and guest privacy. The sundeck is shaded by a hard top bimini and allows for casual, open-air dining with grill and bar area. The area can be accessed both internally from the bridge deck and via a special collapsible staircase from the upper aft deck.

“It is more of an introductory level yacht,” said Mark Cavendish director of sales and marketing. “It is a pocket superyacht but it will still have five cabins and everything you would want from a yacht of that size.”

The proposed propulsion system will see the use of two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, producing 1,939kW each.

Heesen has also announced that there will be a 42m tri-level version, which we hope to bring you more news on soon.
