New Tuco SAR vessels

Danish boatbuilder Tuco Marine has launched two new search and rescue (SAR) vessel designs at Europort in Rotterdam.

The ProZero line SAR boats are covered, high speed crafts that have been designed by a team of engineers in collaboration with world leading naval experts.

Different beams are featured on the two boats, the first is optimised for a double outboard drive solution with a beam of 2.84m. This aims to make the boat an effective hull with good manoeuvrability.

The second boat features a full walk-around deck and a beam of 4.05m to offer the SAR crew safer side decks surrounded by full size safety railings. It is also equipped with an inboard diesel engine installation and waterjet propulsion.

The ProZero range is designed specifically for the military and coast guard sector but variations can be made to suit the vessel to an individual’s particular requirements.

Cockpit layouts on the new vessels are used to maximise the modern day SAR management and electronic devices used for situation awareness.

With SAR missions usually taking place in rough seas at high speed, the missions are limited by the human factor of shock mitigation. The ProZero SAR boats design has focused on minimising the effects of shock mitigation in all parts of the vessels.

Tuco has been working closely with highly experienced SAR operators to secure that the boats will fit the demands of the specific market.

The company aims for the vessels to outperform the current market in terms of reliability and easy service.
