Superyacht of the Week: Baglietto’s 43 metre Pachamama

Making her world debut at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, SYT stepped on board Baglietto’s new 43 metre superyacht Pachamama to experience her spacious and bright living areas first hand. This fresh and funky fast-cruiser certainly has more to offer than what meets the eye.

As the first edition in the Italian yard’s FAST line, and built as part of Baglietto’s ‘new-era’ yachts, the feeling experienced when on board Pachamama is a sense of fun, practicality and above all, style. Even tied up in port, it is not difficult to imagine oneself spending time at anchor and relaxing in one of her many interior or exterior areas. Her functional and guest-friendly layout is the work of Francesco Paszkowski, who is also responsible for her sharp yet minimalistic exterior lines.

The 75 square metre flybridge is where guests can relax and and enjoy the comforts of home in a secluded environment. The raised flybridge section forward and bulwarks on either side make this virtually a wind-free zone where guests can still enjoy the spectacular views offered from such a vantage point. A central lounge area is complimented by a covered dining area forward with the remaining deck space dedicated to sunbathing at the aft section. Two oversized skylights in the deck allow natural light into the main salon area below.

As one move down to main deck, the deep purple matt paint job of the inside of the bulwarks is what strikes you first. This rich satin finished is matched by the brushed stainless found around the yacht. As one follow the wrap-around main deck forward you soon discover a hidden gem located on the fore deck. A space that is usually reserved for technical purposes, this private space has now been fitted with an intimate Jacuzzi, ideal for lazy days at anchor.

Inside, Margherita Casprini created a vibrant interior using elegant touches of dark leathers and woods without overpowering the bright and fun interior. The main salon consists of a comfortable lounge area with a bar and day head area as one enters from main deck aft.

Forward of this area is a full beam dining area, served by glazed full height windows that would serve as talking point during formal dining experiences enjoyed here.

All guest cabins are located on the lower deck with the full beam master suite located aft. Here, the same level of practical and tasteful luxury is used as decoration. Lively artworks adds a touch of colour to what is otherwise a tranquil space lined with natural teak panels and leather inserts. A walk-in wardrobe can be found on the port side of the suite, with a bright his and hers bathroom to starboard.

The remaining four guest cabins feature the same chess-board wood paneling with rounded furniture and desks adding contrast to the angular shapes found around the yacht’s interior. Visible stitching details on all leather panels used lends a custom touch to these special guest areas.

The bridge is rather unique, and a lot of effort has gone into creating a space that is as welcoming to guests as the main salon. Inspiration from this area has been drawn from the automotive industry where designers have fitted the bridge with cutting edge technology in a stylish and engaging package. Natural teak decking and two larger raised seating areas will offer a thrilling experience for guests as they witness how Pachamama’s twin MTU 16V4000 M93L engines propel her to a top speed of 33 knots. The yacht is also fitted with 4 x AB Trac stabilisers to keep her steady underway or at anchor.
