QIBS 2015 a great success

The third edition of the Qatar International Boat Show was held from 10-14 November at Mourjan Marinas in Lusail City, and proved to be yet another successful event. Fast becoming one of the most influential yachting events in the Middle Eastern region, this year the show had 85 vessels on display ranging from leisure day craft to seven luxury yachts, the largest of which was Gulf Craft’s 135 model.

Faysal Mikati, Founder and CEO of SnowComms and organizer of the show, is clearly passionate about the event and its impact on the region’s yachting image. “QIBS has been at the forefront of attracting interest in the growing maritime sector. This is leading to the continuous and accelerated growth of the country’s manufacturing industry, which means that it is already a worthy competitor to other major countries and manufacturers around the world.”

Many international yachting brands have realized the growing importance of the show and companies such as Azimut, Sea Ray, Princess, Ferreti, Riva, Gulf Craft, Sunseeker, Benetti, Sunreef, Silver Yachts and Heesen Yachts now exhibit here every year. International companies are becoming more aware of themyriad of business opportunities in the country, while the numbers of international exhibitors and international media are also proliferating as they come to this event to network with their peers and to discover the latest advancements in the maritime industry,” continued Mikati.
