At the 2017 edition of the Ostar we'll be supporting the Italian sailor Michele Zambelli with our flexible solar panels.
It’s a myth among ocean crossings, takes place every four years, departs from Plymouth and ends in Newport, United States, there’s certainly no need for more clues to understand what we're talking about, it’s the Ostar, the historic single-handed ocean yacht race which over the years saw Giovanni Soldini among its participants.
Another name of Italian sailing will take part in the 2017 edition, Michele Zambelli, born in Forlì in 1990, he can already boast a long experience in the field: in 2014 he won the 3rd Italian title by closing the season in 3rd place in the world rankings, in 2015 he ranked 2nd in the Canaries-Guadeloupe leg of the Minitransat closing the race in sixth place.
The start of the Ostar is scheduled for May 29th and the average duration should be about three weeks, Michele will compete onboard his Class 950 Illumia, that among the equipment can also count on the flexible solar panels made by Solbian. Two SP72 ALLinONE represent the most appropriate choice for this type of competition with their simplicity of use, lightness and versatility and being able to deliver the best performances even in extreme conditions such as those that characterize the North Atlantic.
