The A-Type system consists of a self-stabilizing hexapod with 6 hydraulic cylinders. The length of the cylinders within the A-Type unit is 2 meters. Due to this, the A-type is capable of compensating actual heave motions up to 2.5 meters.

The main use for the A-Type is to transfer people from a vessel or barge to fixed or floating structures and to transfer small cargo or equipment. It is designed as a stand-alone system that can be mounted on any common vessel used during offshore operations.
