BlueNav Unveils its Vision for the Future of Boating with a new Hybrid Software Package

A revolutionary boating experience blending simplicity, enjoyment, and sustainability, available from January 2025.

Arcachon, France, November 19, 2024 — BlueNav, a pioneer in marine hybrid technology, is excited to announce the launch of its next-generation boating solution, which will feature the highly anticipated Virtual Anchor function. Available from January 2025, this all-in-one system also includes an advanced autopilot and speed regulator, offering a unique boating experience that seamlessly integrates pleasure, ease of use, and enhanced environmental responsibility.

BlueNav: Redefining the Boating Experience

BlueNav’s hybrid solution incorporates a range of cutting-edge technologies that make boating more intuitive and eco-friendly. The standout feature, the Virtual Anchor, automatically maintains the boat’s position without the need for a physical anchor.

Leveraging GPS and the NMEA2000 compass, the Virtual Anchor constantly adjusts the boat’s position based on environmental factors such as wind and current, ensuring precise positioning while protecting the seabed. This innovation eliminates the need for traditional mooring and anchoring methods, offering a more sustainable and hassle-free alternative.

Smarter Navigation with Advanced Autopilot and Speed Regulator

In addition to the Virtual Anchor, the new system features a next-generation autopilot, designed to ensure precise navigation along pre-programmed routes, freeing boaters from manual helm control. The built-in speed regulator optimizes energy usage and fuel consumption, improving both efficiency and eco-friendliness—especially in hybrid-powered vessels.

The autopilot is compatible with chartplotters from leading manufacturers such as Garmin, Raymarine, Simrad, B&G, Lowrance, and Furuno. Boaters can easily set waypoints or a route to activate the system, which compensates for drift caused by wind and currents, further optimizing energy consumption for an environmentally conscious navigation experience.

A Hybrid Solution for Sustainable Boating

BlueNav’s solution embraces sustainability through hybrid technology, which combines electric motors with traditional combustion engines. This integration reduces fuel consumption, lowers emissions, and improves the boat’s overall carbon footprint, providing boating enthusiasts with a greener alternative without compromising on performance.

A Word from BlueNav's CEO

“With the BlueNav solution, we aim to provide boaters with a simplified, safer, and more environmentally friendly experience. The integration of the Virtual Anchor completely transforms the game when it comes to comfort and safety, while contributing to the preservation of marine ecosystems. BlueNav’s 'complete solution' approach is a breakthrough for the boating industry,” says Hervé Frouin, CEO of BlueNav.
