PMI Foam Core
CEL Component’s PMI foam is specially developed for use as a structural core in connecion with vacuum infusion processes, like VARTM (Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Moulding) and RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding).
It is highly suitable for application in components of aviation, aerospace and sports equipment. Its cells sized, which are very small, achieve an optimal compromise between low resin absorption and satisfactory bonding of the facings to the core.
Regarding the vaccum infusion and the RTM processes, PMI can be used at a temperature up to 180° with pressure up to 0.7 Mpa after the treatment. Furthermore, it can be easily thermoformed or CNC machined, bringing tremenduous manufacturing advantages.
